Brooks Koepka is the newest participant set to hitch the controversial LIV Golf Invitational Collection.
The Saudi-backed collection continues to draw a few of the largest names in golf with the four-time main winner a serious coup.
The Telegraph report that Koepka might be introduced as the newest large title star to hitch forward of its second occasion subsequent week, which might be its first on US soil.
He dodged questions round LIV Golf within the build-up to the US Open final week by saying: “I’m right here on the US Open. I’m able to play US Open, and I believe it sort of sucks, too, you’re all throwing this black cloud over the US Open.
“It’s one among my favorite occasions. I don’t know why you guys hold doing that. The extra legs you give it, the extra you retain speaking about it. Y’all are throwing a black cloud over the US Open, and I believe that sucks.”
And the actual fact ‘PGA Tour / Nike Athlete’ has been faraway from Twitter bio might be affirmation of the experiences for some.
Reigning Open champion Collin Morikawa was reportedly the following in line to play in LIV Golf, however he dismissed these claims in a put up on Twitter.
He wrote: “To state for the document, as soon as once more, you all are completely mistaken. I’ve stated it since February at Riviera that I’m right here to remain on the @PGATOUR and nothing has modified. Now for those who’ll excuse me, I’ve bought some cereal to pour in my milk.”
They’d be part of the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson in accepting enormous sums of cash to play within the LIV Golf collection.
It’s understood Mickelson accepted £160million to entrance up the collection, Johnson is being paid £80m, whereas 48 gamers cut up a £20m purse on the first occasion, which was held in St Albans.
The players have not been able to escape the uncomfortable questions around it being a Saudi ‘sportswashing’ campaign.
The PGA Tour have suspended the membership of all those playing in the LIV Golf series.
It also means players will unlikely be able to play in the Ryder Cup and with Koepka, Morikawa and DeChambeau all potentially out, it could be a huge blow for the event.
