Chris Eubank says he was taken for drug testing after his fight with Conor Benn was called off.
The decision was taken to postpone the bout following news that Benn had tested positive for banned substance clomifene in August.
Eubank Jr spoke of his disappointment over the bout not going ahead as scheduled but he’s used this as an opportunity to give his opposite number plenty of stick.
And what better opportunity to do so that when he was taken for a drug test of his own, which Eubank Jr said happened in his hotel room after the cancellation announcement.
“Just got back to my hotel room to be greeted by another random drugs test… which as always I’m happy to take,” Eubank said on his social media.
“10 years and never failed one #CleanAthlete.”
And it appears Eubank Jr hasn’t given up hope on fighting on Saturday, as he called on YouTuber Jake Paul to fly over from America and take him on in London.
Commenting on the saga, Paul tweeted: “I can’t wait to see all of the texts and emails between Eddie Hearn [Benn’s promoter] and all the parties involved in this fiasco. #Discovery #EubankJrBenn.”
Quote tweeting Paul’s tweet, Eubank Jr said: “How about I get you a jet to the U.K tomorrow and we scrap at the O2 on Saturday for the fans that are now missing out because Conor Benn fumbled AND crumbled under the pressure?
“You come in as heavy as you want #ForTheFans #EubankJrPaul.”
