Having not fought since December last year, Ebanie Bridges is looking to come back with a bang.
The IBF bantamweight world champion suffered a nasty injury in her world title defence against Shannon O’Connell in December.
In the aftermath Bridges required surgery, but now she is back in the gym after five months out and looks better than ever.
talkSPORT paid the champion a visit and saw her in fine form, shadow boxing as well as hitting the bags and the pads.
You would have no idea she had recently had surgery to mend her hand given the power on display, with the sound of her hooks echoing throughout the gym and catching everyone’s attention.
After this she is off to the States to continue the hard graft in Philadelphia where she was in the gym with Jaron Ennis.
Mark Tibbs, Bridges’ trainer, revealed she is aiming to fight again in July this year.
“She had a hand injury, but she’s had some surgery on that and she’s starting to come back in the gym,” he told talkSPORT after putting her through her paces.
“I’m expecting her to fight in July.
“She’s got that old buzz back and she’s got to get a bit fitter, but hopefully she’ll let me know when she’s fighting.”
In terms of an opponent, the 36-year-old had previously been called out by fellow Aussie and OnlyFans star, Avril Mathie, and she accepted the challenge.
“I love Avril, I think she’s great, honestly,” Bridges told talkSPORT.
“She works really hard and I respect her for what she does, her hustle, her lifestyle and what she’s done.
“I think it will be a great fight and it will definitely be crowd pleasing. I think our weigh-ins will break the internet!”
As for how Bridges sees the fight going, she said: “I don’t really see it going past the first four or five rounds, obviously with me winning.
“She’s a tough Aussie, but so was Shannon O’Connell and I’m just getting better and better.
“So, it will be exciting if we have that fight and I would like to fight her and as she said we were in talks for a fight.
“I would like to give her that opportunity because I think she’s great and I think she deserves it.”
Whomever it is, dancing under those bright lights again can’t come soon enough.
