Gervonta Davis has revealed that Eddie Hearn offered him $10million to fight Ryan Garcia under his promotional banner.
In a series of swiftly deleted tweets sent in recent days, Tank has taken aim at the British promoter.
First, on Saturday, Gervonta attacked Hearn over his handling of Conor Benn’s recent positive drugs tests before the failed Chris Eubank Jr fight.
He tweeted: “Why they didn’t ban Eddie Hearn for still trying to have fights after he knew a fighter was cheating and still tried to continue with the boxing match.”
Hearn responded to this by telling iD Boxing: “Gervonta’s weird isn’t he? He does these tweets and then deletes them instantly.
“So he tweets saying, ‘I’m out of contract with Mayweather Promotions,’ and then he deletes them.
“He done those ones [about me] and deleted them. Wild really…
“Of course with the Conor Benn incident, yeah, he’s gonna have a pop. It’s not up to me, it’s up to the commission, they pulled the fight.”
Gervonta and Ryan Garcia have now agreed to meet in a massive showdown targeted for April 15, providing they both win tune-up bouts in January.
The fight has been made as a rare instance of co-operation between Tank’s advisory representatives Al Haymon’s PBC and Garcia’s promoter Golden Boy.
Gervonta has now leaked that midway through negotiations Hearn made an approach to stage the bout himself.
While it’s apparent that the American’s relationship with his promoters Floyd Mayweather, Leonard Ellerbe and Mayweather Promotions has now come to an end, he still remains under the guidance of Haymon’s PBC.
Despite this, Hearn made him a proposition last month.
Gervonta tweeted on Sunday in response to Hearn’s interview: “F*** what you talking about. Why did you try to continue a boxing fight when you knew a fighter was dirty @EddieHearn?
“Not to mention, buddy sent me an offer for Ryan Garcia. Some s*** I’m already making plus more!”
He then followed up by leaking Hearn’s full email offer.
It read: “Dear Gervonta, Further to our messages confirming you are no longer under promotional contract, we would like to make you the following offer for your next fight: v Ryan Garcia in February/March 2023 on DAZN PPV.
“Guaranteed purse of US$10 million. PPV bonus to be agreed.
“Look forward to hearing from you. As I said, I am in Cleveland this week and would be happy to fly you out to discuss face to face. Thanks, Eddie.”
Hearn is yet to respond to this being leaked.
