Tennis legend Roger Feder has embarked on various new projects since announcing his departure from tennis back in September 2022.
He recently surprised his 12 million Instagram followers with an unexpected arty adventure, publishing photos of himself suspended mid-air, undergoing a full-body sculpture.
The photos were part of a joint project with famous Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, who together with CNBC have made a documentary called ‘Portrait of a Champion’, which follows the final stages of Federer’s incredible career.
The former tennis player spent hours suspended from a harness and was covered from head to toe in wax molds for hours on end.
Federer was the first to admit that the experience pushed him out of his comfort zone. “This new experience gave me the chance to push me out of my comfort zone and opened my eyes to learn the intricate processes of creating art”, he said.
Despite the unique and somewhat uncomfortable nature of the experience, the tennis star expressed his gratitude to be part of the project.
“Over the last two years, I was given the unique opportunity to work with fellow countryman and famous artist, @ugorondinone0 , to discover art on a deeper level. I’m proud to share with you this incredible experience and how @creditsuisse_ch helped bring it to life”, he posted on his Instagram.
