Richarlison and Tottenham team-mate Heung-min Son embraced after the Brazil striker helped dump South Korea out of the World Cup.
The Spurs forward put their friendship aside for 90 minutes, with the South American nation coming out on top, cruising to a 4-1 win.
And Richarlison was once again one of the stars of the show as he fired in another goal of the tournament contender.
The 25-year-old added to his brilliant brace from Brazil‘s opening win over Serbia by capping off a fantastic, free-flowing team move in the 29th minute.
Richarlison started it off by juggling the ball on his head outside the box, before finding Marquinhos, who squared for Thiago Silva, with the Chelsea defender then picking out the run of the ex-Everton marksman.
The former Watford forward then took one touch before finding the back of the net with a left-footed effort.
And Son knew his side were second best at Stadium 974 as he congratulated his teammate following the final whistle.
His dazzling display left talkSPORT’s Dean Ashton fawning over the player.
Ashton said on commentary for talkSPORT: “I think he’s becoming a manager’s dream, isn’t he? Because he’s got that outrageous quality, but also he’s got that fantastic work rate.
“And something that nowadays as a lone striker, if you don’t bring that, there’s not many managers that want you, there’s not.
“In world football, not many managers want a player now that doesn’t work intelligently off the ball.
“And he does it intelligently, but also he does it with the sort of youthfulness of a young kid being throw in and say ‘just run around for me, this is your chance, go on’.
“That’s how he looks, he just looks like every time he’s out there, I’m just going to run around, almost in a random fashion, just chasing the ball, making myself a nuisance.
“He’s got the fitness levels to do it, he’s fit enough to do the work and be then useful enough when he gets the ball in dangerous areas to still be able to produce.”
Unsurprisingly, Ashton named Richarlison as his Man of the Match, adding: “It’s Richarlison. That epitomises Brazil at the moment for me.
“It’s that class, the bit of magic that Brazilians can bring, the bit of skill, the thing that gets you off your seat.
“The thing that makes you put your hand on your head as if you can’t believe what’s happened – and he can do that.
“But then I was watching him, I was thinking, ‘you are just grafting, you are constantly grafting throughout the whole 90 minutes.
“You are not giving the centre-halves a minute’s rest, you’re constantly on the move, you’re constantly closing down, you’re constantly working for your team, you’re doing a bit of Neymar’s running as well because you have to.
“I just thought it was a really good striker’s performance.”
Adrian Durham then insisted Richarlison, who is yet to score in the Premier League this season, could prove to be key for Spurs in the second half of the campaign.
He said: “If he stays fit, if he plays like he’s playing for Brazil, if [Antonio] Conte gets it right, he’s such a big asset for Tottenham.
“In terms of whether they’re actually going to challenge deep into the Champions League or whether they’re actually going to challenge towards the top of the Premier League or be a certainty for a top four place, they’re going to need Richarlison to bring the ‘Brazilian Richarlison’ on a consistent basis in the Premier League.”
