WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair revealed on Sunday that she has been taking part in a bodybuilding competition in New Jersey this weekend.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Belair said she has been training for ten weeks for the WBFF Pro Atlantic City ProAm in New Jersey despite the rigors of her career in WWE that has taken her across the country and to both Mexico and Saudi Arabia in that time.
The final results are not yet known as of this writing.
In the post seen below, Belair opened up about her journey battling eating disorders in her past after having “an unhealthy relationship with food” and being triggered by even hearing the word “diet.”
“I wanted to push myself, test myself… see if I could commit without taking it too far, see if I had learned to listen to my body, see if I could diet again and have self control without going off on the deep end. I truly faced my fears with this one. I invested these 10 weeks to relearn myself and it took me on a self discovery journey of self love, commitment, and dedication to myself,” she said.
She went on to say the challenges in getting to this weekend were just as much mental as much as physical.
“I have evolved. I have matured. I do have self control. I have learned the importance of balance and I do listen to my body now! I have completely fallen in love with who I have become and I will be forever grateful for this journey,” she wrote.
